innocence's dream and destructive realilty of Michael Andrew Law

Majority of Michael Andrew Law ’s paintings from the past decades take the figures of young ladies and chinese-calligraphy as their subjects, and the new series titled Humanity are groupings of multiple figures that use the Hong Kong landmarks and again young figures as composition that outrightly posit a dramatic confrontation between an innocence's dream and destructive realilty.

This ambiguity is exactly what makes Law ’s figure fascinating and compelling, simply because they give us viewer a biased choice to complete the outcome of that confrontation in his or her own imagination.
Besides, they also remind the viewer that such a fight always happens, regardless of whatever ideological mask its participants may chose to wear.
