In this series, Law utilizes the manga iconography of the Pale Hair Girls to depict the shear materialism of millennials' during Christmas and other holidays. The majority of the works are created with digital media and are available as prints and limited editions.
This is a satirical commentary on the crushing expectations of consumerist culture. To create the look of a hyper-glamorous holiday celebration, the entire series takes on a visual materialism. This contrasts the artist's sensations of loneliness amid the chaos of consumer high holidays.
While Law's earlier works are stylistically linked to the pop art movement, these pieces embrace what can only be understood as Hongkonger realism. No where else in the world are the cultural clashes so evident. This is a narrative of the homegrown Hongkonger's local culture in contrast to the Chinese traditional culture. Law embraces the duality of his own experience without resolving the inherent opposition of influences. What results is a collection full of conceptual and aesthetic oppositions.
